Hello dear friend,
Thanks for stopping by to read, we’re so glad to have you on this platform. Trust you are doing great and keeping safe.
If we may ask, how are you appreciating God during this season of the Covid-19 pandemic? we know things might not be going well as planned but note that you’ve got so much to be thankful for. Here is one of the least reasons: you’ve got a mobile phone/tablet/laptop and data to read this post (hope you smiled). Yeah, you should be grateful for that.
Think about the homeless, the poor, the destitute, how they are coping this period and their peculiar challenges. You are not in that category; So, no matter the limitations or challenges you face there is still so much to be thankful for. Oh yes, you have life, health, food, shelter, family and many other good things.
Here is one of our favourite songs by Jeff and Sheri Easter;
"Thank you Lord for your blessings on me"
Verse 1
As the world looks upon me, as I struggle along
They say I have nothing, but they are so wrong
In my heart I'm rejoicing, how I wish they could see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
Verse 2
Now I know I'm not wealthy, and these clothes, they’re not new
I don't have much money, but Lord I have you
And to me that's all that matters, though the world cannot see
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
Chorus
There's a roof up above me
I've a good place to sleep
There's food on my table
And shoes on my feet
You gave me your love Lord
And a fine family
Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me
It’s such a wonderful song. If you don’t know this song, you can learn it by watching it on YouTube (your choice though). So, why not just take a few seconds to whisper, “Thank you Lord for your blessings on me”.
Also, do not forget to identify those around you (relatives, friends, neighbours, acquaintances etc.) who needs help and lend a helping hand. You may not have much, but the little you can spare would go a long way. Just put a smile on someone’s face.
The benefits of gratitude and giving cannot be overemphasized. Always remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The pandemic will not last, but you will. We’ll leave you with these two quotes;
“Find time to thank God for all the blessings you receive on a day to day basis” - Steven Johnson.
“We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give”- Sir Winston Churchill
